2020 Chateau Mouton Rothschild

Château Mouton-Rothschild is a renowned vineyard in France, situated in Bordeaux's Pauillac region, right on the border with Saint-Estèphe. It lies adjacent to another famed vineyard: Château Lafite-Rothschild.

Château Mouton-Rothschild has been classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé, according to the Bordeaux wine classification system of 1855. However, this status was only achieved in 1973 (after 51 years of lobbying, marking the only significant change since 1855); previously, it was classified as a Deuxième Cru. The estate spans 74 hectares, planting about 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.

Mouton-Rothschild produces an exceptionally nuanced, deep, and rich Pauillac. Particularly when fully matured, Mouton-Rothschild is recognizable by its bouquet, a pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.
