    Product Details

The Glendronach distillery, established in 1826 by James Allardice and later rebuilt in 1852 by Walter Scott (not the famed novelist), has a rich history woven into the fabric of Scottish whisky heritage. It became part of the Grant family legacy in 1920, under Charles Grant, and was later acquired by Wm. Teacher & Sons, marking a significant period in the distillery's history. During the Teacher's ownership, Glendronach solidified its reputation for producing exceptional single malt whiskies, a tradition that continues robustly today.

This exquisite bottle, distilled in 1960s and matured for 12 years, is a prime example of Glendronach's quality during the Teacher's era. It was specially imported by Ruffino for the Italian market, adding an extra layer of uniqueness to its story.

    Tasting Notes

While specific tasting notes for this vintage are not provided, typical characteristics of Glendronach whiskies from this era might include:

    • Nose: Rich and complex with a deep fruitiness, hints of sherry-soaked raisins, and a delicate backdrop of oak and spice.

    • Palate: Full-bodied with a velvety texture, offering layers of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and a blend of spices. The sherry cask maturation is evident, providing a luscious sweetness balanced with oak's warmth.

    • Finish: Long and satisfying, with a lingering sweetness, notes of dried fruit, and a hint of oak spice, leaving a lasting impression.
