The Artisanal Process: Crafting Coca Buton
1️⃣ Maceration: The process begins with the coca leaves, sourced from Peru and known for their high quality. They are macerated in a high-alcohol solution, setting the stage for distillation in a traditional 1,000-litre alembic still.
2️⃣ Distillation: The essence of the coca leaves is captured, meticulously excluding the cocaine molecule. Only the heart of the distillate, rich in aromatic qualities, is retained. Post-distillation, the residual leaves are incinerated under strict supervision.
3️⃣ Blending: The final step is blending this exquisite distillate with other individually macerated and distilled aromatic herbs, culminating in the iconic Coca Buton.
